Factoid: In 1974, a broadcast was made into space. This broadcast, named the Arecibo message was of binary construction designed to demonstrate the technological achievement of the human race. Great in concept, but in reality the message would take 25,000 years to reach its destination, which would no longer be there when it arrived!
