FactoidRecording music so it synchs on old movies before click tracks was done using streamers and punches. A line would be scratched into the film diagonally using a 3 foot stick which would make a line cross the screen over 2 seconds. This was the streamer that could be coloured to indicate the type of cue that was on its way. A hole punch was used on the frame that marks the action point which would then create a flash on the screen.
